Start of Year Arrangements for New Boys Y7

Pre-Season Rugby Training
Wednesday 27th August
Thursday 28th August
Friday 29th August

All Y7 boys are encouraged to come along to as many pre-season training sessions as they can manage. Coombe Lane Sports Ground. 9.00-11.00am. College rugby kit. No mouthguard required.

Rugby Mouthguards
Please note that all boys must have a mouthguard for rugby and games. An O-Pro order form was included in the pack given to parents at the June meetings. You need to send this to O-Pro who will then come into school and fit the mouthguards at the beginning of term. If you have not sent off the form you need to make other arrangements to buy your son a mouthguard.

Wednesday 3rd September (first day of term)
Boys are to arrive before 8.30am in uniform.
Please bring games kit.
All boysin More and Southwell Houses and anyone in Campion and Fisher Houses wishing to attend swimming trials will also need swimming kit.
Bring a pen and pencil. Do not bring any extra books or other equipment.
Your son can only purchase food from the refectory if you have already sent in a cheque to put credit on your son's meal card account.
Bring a packed lunch if you are not using the school refectory.
Campion and Fisher Houses will be going to Coombe Lane for games in the afternoon and will be brought back by coach at the end of school.
More and Southwell Houses will have games at the College, including swimming.
School ends for all boys at 3.00pm.
Swimming Trials for those in Campion and Fisher Houses who wish to try out for the College Swimming Team are at 3.10pm and end at 4.30pm.

Thursday 4th September (second day of term)
Boys are to arrive before 8.30am in uniform.
Please bring games kit.
All boys in Campion and Fisher Houses and any boys in More and Southwell Houses wishing to attend swimming trials will also need swimming kit.
Bring a pen and pencil and homework diary. Do not bring any extra books or other equipment.
More and Southwell Houses will be going to Coombe Lane for games in the afternoon and will be brought back by coach at the end of school.
Campion and Fisher Houses will have games at the College, including swimming.
School ends for all boys at 3.00pm.
Swimming Trials for those in More and Southell Houses who wish to try out for the College Swimming Team are at 3.10pm and end at 4.30pm.

Marchants Hill Residential Trip
departs Friday 5th September at 1.00pm
returns Sunday 7th September at around 3.00pm

Boys come to school at the usual time bringing the kit they need for Marchants Hill. This is stored safely until they depart at 1.00pm. Arrive back at the College around 3.00pm on Sunday (depending on traffic). Please see the New Parents' Handbook (distributed at the June meetings) for further information.

Meetings for Y7 Parents
Wednesday 10th September 7.30pm (for parents of boys in Campion and Fisher Houses)
Thursday 11th September 7.30pm (for parents of boys in More and Southwell Houses)

The evening begins with Mass in the College Chapel to pray for a successful year for your sons and to ask God's blessing on the school and our families. The Mass is followed by a buffet put on by the Friends of Wimbledon College and then a meeting in the Hall. The meeting is to give further and more detailed information about Y7 arrangements for the rest of the year. The Head of Line and Form Tutors will be available to deal with any issues which may have arisen. Parents are asked to make every effort to attend. If you are unable to make your assigned evening (according to your son's House) you are welcome to attend the other meeting but please make sure you inform the Registrar in good time. Thank you. Mass begins at 7.30pm.

Activities
A wide range of activities begin in the first couple of weeks of term and Y7 are encouraged to come along and see what they want to do. Additions will be made to this list so please check back.
Wrestling - Monday 8th September. 3.15-4.30pm. Hall. Ordinary PE kit.
Strings Project - begins Wednesday 10th September. Application forms must be returned by Monday 8th Septmber (to Music School).
