The Strings Project
The Strings Project was started in 2005 as a way of encouraging boys to take up strings playing (violin, viola, cello and double bass) and to ensure a steady supply of good strings players to the school's instrumental ensembles.
All Figures (Y7) boys are offered the opportunity of participating in the Strings Project. They receive group tuition free of charge and free loan of their instrument.
The Strings Project is run in partnership with the London Mozart Players. LMP musicians lead two all-day workshops for the boys concluding with a Teatime Concert for parents.
No further applications for 2011-12 can be accepted as of 20/09/11

Scratch Chorus
The Scratch Chorus is an impromptu gathering of people who love to sing. We meet for just six rehearsals and then perform a short concert work before a sympathetic audience of family and friends. You do not need to read music or be a great singer – just have enthusiasm and join the excitement of a live performance from scratch in six weeks. All welcome including parents, staff, former pupils, Sixth Form boys and friends of the College. Previous performances include Duruflé Requiem, Vivaldi Gloria, Fauré Requiem, Jenkins The Armed Man, Haydn Nelson Mass and Gilbert and Sullivan Trial By Jury. Please email the Director of Music now to be included on the mailing list for further information and a reminder nearer the time. |
Important notice - Scratch Chorus 2012
The Choir tour to Rome and Florence means that I have had to postpone Scratch Chorus in the Summer Term. We hope to resume Scratch Chorus in the Autumn Term 2012. I'm sorry to disappoint so many of you but this year is proving to be so busy that something had to give!
Please contact the Director of Music to add your name to the Scratch Chorus list and to receive information nearer the time. |
