Sport at Wimbledon College

Sport is an important and vibrant part of boys’ lives at Wimbledon College. We aim to provide a wide range of sports at levels suited to boys’ ability. There is a rich extra-curricular programme in the school. All pupils are expected to make a full contribution to this and get involved in sporting practices and competitions.

From September 2008, we are developing and extending the range of sports on offer to pupils, and have a variety of sports available.

We compete against the best sporting schools in London and the South East. The College has an outstanding record in its major sports achievements.

The College’s facilities for sport include:

  • a Sports Hall (two basketball courts and four badminton courts)
  • a 25-metre Swimming Pool
  • Weights and Fitness Room
  • the College Hall is used for Judo and Wrestling
  • the College Field is used for PE and sports training
  • Playing Fields at Coombe Lane for Games and competitive matches

We expect every boy to get involved in the extra-curricular activities of the school, including sports.
