Congratulations to our Syntax pupils on their GCSE Results.

There has been an improvement on last year’s results with 73% of boys achieving 5 A*-C [including English and Maths].  25% of our results were A*/A grades and 51% were A*-B.

On an individual level it is pleasing to see that over 65% of our boys achieved at least 7 A*-C grades, with 21 boys achieving at least 8 A*/A grades and 7 achieving at least 10 A*/A grades.

Our highest achieving pupil in recent years, Matteo Baccaglini, achieved a total of 15 A* at GCSE and a top grade in AS French. This is an exceptional achievement and one that is well deserved. Matteo has also been the Chair of the Merton Youth Parliament this year. The boys achieving 10 A*/A grades are Daniel Edmond-Smith, Augustin Gabriel, , Liam Giuffrida, , Niall Greene, Luca Humphries, Thomas Murphy and Albert Wells.

Head Master, Adrian Laing said ‘Congratulations to all of the boys who have received their results today. Their approach to their studies and to the examinations themselves was very positive and it is pleasing to see that this has been rewarded. I would also like to thank both staff and parents for the support that they have given to the boys. We look forward to seeing the boys’ continued success in their future studies and careers.’
