Modern Languages are highly regarded by universities and studying French at A level offers the opportunity to not only continue with French in further educations, but also integrate it as a part of many degrees, thus adding an extra life skill to your CV.  The emphasis in new syllabuses is on contemporary issues and communication skills, the ability to listen to ,speak, read, write and understand French.  There is an opportunity for subsidised work experience abroad during February half term - in France, which has proved an invaluable experience for previous students.

Students may study topics on aspects of French life and literature in class, but students are expected to extend their studies at home using various forms of media.
