Sixth Form Results

Congratulations to all of our pupils on their achievements. The boys have faced significant changes to A Level courses and examinations this year and it is very pleasing to see that they have done so in such a positive manner. The majority are now in the position to take up places at top universities around the country and overseas while others will be taking up apprenticeships.

Overall the boys exceeded target grades achieving a 99% pass rate, with 73% of all examination results graded A*-C, 47% graded A*/B and 22% graded A*/A. This represents a 4% increase at A*/A and a 6.5% increase at A*/B.

Outstanding individual achievements include Niall Greene who achieved 3A* and an A and is going on to study Mechanical Engineering at Bath and Matteo Baccaglini who obtained five A Levels at A and above and has gained a place at Merton College, Oxford to read PPE. Paul Esseyin also achieved five A Levels at B or above and Michael Chadzynski, Joshua Giblin-Burnham, Luca Humphries and Albert Wells all achieved 4 A Levels at B or above.  Albert has gained a place to study Medicine at Manchester while Thomas Murphy will be studying Medicine across the Pennines in Sheffield.

Boys are going on to study a wide variety of degree courses including, Accounting and Finance, Computing, Drama, Economics, English Language and Media, International Business Management, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Medicine, Music, Physics, Physiotherapy, PPE, Song writing, Sport and Exercise Science.

Head Master, Adrian Laing, said “Congratulations to the boys on their well-deserved results.  It is a real credit to them and to the support that they have received from their teachers and parents that they have achieved such positive outcomes. I wish them every success in their future careers”.
