Admissions 2017

In September 2017, Wimbledon College will admit 199 boys to Figures (Year 7) without regard for aptitude or ability. The places will offered according to the criteria set out in the 2016 Admissions Policy. For information regarding Sixth Form, please visit the Sixth Form Admissions page.

Application Deadline & Offers of Places

The deadline for Y7 Applications for admission in September 2018 is Tuesday 31st October 2017. You must submit both the Common Application Form (CAF) to your Local Authority and the Wimbledon College Supplementary Form (SIF) to Wimbledon College by this date.

Your Local Authority will write to you on a specified date (this year was 1st March 2017), indicating the school highest on your list which is able to offer you a place. We will also write to you confirming whether or not we were able to offer a place. You must accept or reject the offer by a specified date (tbc). After that time, any unaccepted offers will be withdrawn.

We will write to all applicants whom we have not been able to offer a place and indicate where they stand in the waiting list. The top end of the waiting list is published online and updated regularly. The waiting list is deleted once term begins in September and parents who wish their son's name to remain on the list must inform the Registrar in writing (address below) or by email.

Appeals will be heard on Thursday 27 April 2017, the deadline for lodging an appeal is Thursday 13 April 2017.

Applications for admission to other years (Y8-11) may be made at any time using the supplementary information form. You must also apply to your local authority as all applications are co-ordinated across the London boroughs and surrounding counties. Please note that all years are currently oversubscribed and have waiting lists

Open Evening 2017 (for admission in September 2018)

The date for the Open Evening for boys and parents for will be on Thursday 28th September. The evening consist of an extensive tour of the school with each family having their own pupil guide. During the tour there will opportunities to talk to pupils and staff from all subject areas. There will also be a talk by the Head Master, please note that there will only be four of these talks in the evening and space is limited.

There will be Open Mornings on 2nd and 3rd of October, these are for Y6 parents only who are unable to attend the Open Evening and are by appointment only. Parents should be aware that the Open Mornings will consist of the Head Master's Talk and a short tour of the school. Parents will not have an opportunity to meet pupils and teaching staff.

Information Packs are given out at Open Evening, these can also be picked up from the school's reception (open 8.00am - 3.30pm schooldays). Key information is contained in the school prospectus which is available online together with the Supplementary Information form.
